Set Document Properties to Required

billychan

How to set the extended document properties to be required so that end-users have to input the data before adding new document? Is it possible in WSMP?

That's great, it would be better if you provide the solution before closing the thread so that others also could take advantage of it.

Well let me summaries steps here
ViewSet Manager -> YourViewSet -> SelectComponent -> SelectJsp -> Edit Block -> Drag&Drop items from Field Chooser

Thanks Nicholas

I've been aware that you can enable/disable these fields, but I assumed you couldn't ever set it to Required. Is there a way to actually make it a required field, so that when you create a document/workspace you cannot proceed to save it until you specify a value for that field?

Just double click on the item and set the required attribute as TRUE

Thank you! But, this seems to only take effect on the web client side. If I set up some properties to be required for a document, and not specify those fields when importing them into a folder at runtime, it still imports the documents. Is there a way to somehow specify these as required on the server?

Dear,

According to Nicholas replies, to set the extended document properties to be required so that end-users have to input the data before adding new document:

ViewSet Manager -> YourViewSet -> SelectComponent -> SelectJsp -> Edit Block -> Drag&Drop items from Field Chooser
Then
Just double click on the item and set the required attribute as TRUE

Thank Nicholas
