Opening Mode of DCR

Hi all,

Can anyone suggests me as how to retreive whether the DCT when opened is being called as newDCR or editDCR? As the content manager can call FIle >> New Form Entry and can also edit the DCR through workflow tasks.

What i need is to detect the value and as per that some fields of the DCT are to put as read only.

All suggestion are welcome to capture the mode of opening a DCR.

Quick and dirty - check if your DCR has a name: var dcrname = IWDCRInfo.getDCRName();

as i am using the same but it is not working the way it is required as complete functionality. Just doing a part of it.

What is the scenario where the check is not sufficient?

If you want to know if a DCR being opened is a new DCR or an edit of an existing DCR, then do this:

create a hidden item called something default value NEW

on the save event change the value to EDITED

then just check that each time

Check the value of iw_wizard_bean.currentStep form value

Thanks a ton.... but Alas!! it is not working. Does this needs any change as per server configuration or so??
