dynamic generation
Bhargav Coca
I am TS 6.5 on win2k. I am having problems generating a word document from the DCT, i have all the static elements being written into the word, but the dynamic elements are not written into the Word. Here is a small snippet of how i am referring them inside my tpl.
<table width="600">
<tr>
<td align="center">
<span class="style2">
WEB HOSTING SERVICES AGREEMENT
</span>
</td>
</tr>
<tr>
<td align="center">
<span class="style2">
<iw_value name='dcr.position.customerName'/>
</span>
</td>
</tr>
<tr>
<td align="center">
<span class="style2">
<iw_value name='dcr.position.customerAgreement'/>
<BR><BR>
</span>
</td>
</tr>
</table>
In this case "WEB HOSTING SERVICES AGREEMENT" is only written into the word.
Thank you

Thanks Nicholas

Here is the tpl as an attachemnt, I have tried using the print statement as well as the direct way. Nothing works for the word.
Thank you

It is still not taking the dynamic values from the DCT. Did you get this working by anychance?
Please advice.

I have a New Problem here, When writing the Static content intot eh word document, it writes it for only one page, next page is never being started. IF the static content is more than page length, it will give me a presentation template error. Did anyone get this problem, please let me know the workaround.
Thank you
Nicholas
Just try checking <iw_perl> tags, they are not placed properly.
Thanks Nicholas

here is a working example

$str='<html xmlns
="urn:schemas-microsoft-com
ffice
ffice"
i can't find the close quote.
It's supposed to be near the very end of the PT
</div>
</body>
</html>
' ;
<!-- HERE IS THE INTENDED END QUOTE -->
print FH $str;
close (FH);
iwpt_output("done");
</iw_perl>
Unfortunately, I think it's getting hijacked by a number of
<iw_value name=
'
...
'
/>
lines embedded within the same code.

The insertion of the closing tag is not required, if i make the changes the tpl fails. I am attaching the tpl with this post. The issue is still the same, i can write any static data into the Word Document, but cannot write the dynamic content coming for the DCR. If i want static content, i can just do it using simple file handling and it writes it into the Word doc, But now my Static content is not going into the Word doc. Please advice.
Thank you

All I can suggest is try to simplify your test case as much as possible.
What you have right now is a very complex PT that is trying to do a bunch of things using a bunch of different styles (e.g. you begin without using CDATA tags, then you start using them)
Work on creating a doc with just one piece of static and one piece of dynamic data. Once you get that working, start adding back the rest of the code in small, manageable chunks.
