Content Server 6.6 installation problem

I'm installing Content Server 6.6 on Windows 2008 R2 Standard x64 and Oracle client 11.1.0.7 32-bit. Oracle Server 11g R1 64-bit is on another server with the same OS specifications. Installation user is OS admin user but installation is done through Remore desktop connection.

First problem is that, Server Manager is not starting. ServerMgr.exe Application error: unable to start correctly.

Docbroker service and Java Method Server is running.

Second problem is Oracle DB connection failed.

Selected create new user account & tablespace option, supplied all the values and Oracle DBA userid & pwd.

Getting error "User could not connect to selected db". No detail written in the log file pointed there.

(able to connect the db through SQL Plus though using same db user)

Could anyone please help?

More info: Installation process showed Content Server successfully installed.

Oracle connection error occured when creating new repository.

Do I need to apply any patch?

I suppose you finally succeed to install Documentum properly.

1.What operating system are you using?

2. Can you connect to the target database from the content server host using oracle "netca". ?

3. Check environment variables make sure that they are pointing to correct oracle client directory.

The OS is Windows Server 2008 R2 x64.

We have installed Oracle 11.2.0.1 for windows 64bits on this server, then Content Server.

The installation of Documentum give no error at all, but impossible to create a repository, and launching "Server Manager" give an error.

We can connect to the Oracle database using sqlplus.

I think we have found the trick:

We have to install Oracle Client 11.2.0.1 for windows 32 bits.

Then everything seems to work fine: creattion of repository is ok, and "Server Manager" doesn't give error anymore :-)

Yes that is it.Remember that documentum cs is a 32 bit application and it uses 32bit version of the oracle client not 64.

FYI - Content Server 6.7 now includes true 64 bit version of binary

Yes CS 6.7 sp1 is 64-bit , but it also requires oracle client library for 32-bit.

You have one 32bits version And one 64bits!
