Stopwords
Ottawa_IWOV
Hi All -
I want to add a stopword that contains an apostrophe (i.e. can't). Do I have to encode this in the stopwords file (i.e can't or something like that?
Thanks,

Try this and let me know if it works on your system.
In the DB_HOME dir open the break_on_char.cfg file. Add the apostrpophe as a break character.
Stop and restart the server. Run your test.

Hi
You have to use UTF8 encoding in the stopword.cfg. Open the file in UTF8 capable editor, add the new word, save it and you're done. Make sure the editor does not add the byte order mark (ie: ) to the very beginning of the stopwords.cfg file.

Also check to make sure you've got the right code. Unicode has both veritical and directional apostrophes.
<stopword>n't</stopword>
<stopword>n’t</stopword>

We had this same question, and are also on 4.01. My server person could not locate e break_on_char.cfg file. If we had to create this file, what would the format be?
Thanks.
