problem with iwpt_dcr_value

I have a template that needs to use perl to store values in an array and after collecting all the values output them all at once. I think I'm almost there except I can't get the iwpt_dcr_value to out put anything other than (eval TeamSite:CRparser:erl_name(x.FAQQuestion)).

Both test and Question[counter] output the (eval TeamSite:CRparser:erl_name(x.FAQQuestion)). Thanks in advance for the help.

As well they do...
You've asked perl to output evaluated strings(double quotes).

Try
$Question[$counter] = iwpt_dcr_value('x.FAQQuestion');
my $test = iwpt_dcr_value('x.FAQQuestion');
