Writing Tbo for a object Type

Dear All

I am required to write a TBO for a object type in repository

object type------>tp_elrms_protertyhousetax

it is sub type of tp_multi_village which is in turn subtype of tp_doc having super type as dm_document.

now to while writing the code which class i need to extend. I m confused if i extend Df_document every Custom type will get affected as all the custum types are the sub types of dm_document.

please someone refer me a code or give me your valuable suggestions.

Even if your hierarchy is like this:

dm_document
- tp_doc
  - tp_multi_village
    - tp_elrms_protertyhousetax

Your TBO for tp_elrms_potertyhousetax can still extend DfDocument.

Just because it extends DfDocument doesn't mean all DfDocument subtypes will use it.

You have to specify in Composer/DAB which types will use it.

Do not extend the base Documentum objects (dm_document). Localize the functionality you are adding in your TBO to the object where it is needed. For example, there is no need to extend the tp_docs object if the functionality is used in the tp_multi_village object. Thanks Scott for the Code and help.

but here is the one more problem how do I know that this TBO will work only for case_document type not for other documents having super type same as the super type of case_documents actually all the confusion where inthe code we specify that the tbo will work for which perticular Document Type.

and do I need to create different jar files for interface and Class.
