teamsite server and user name

I am getting the interwoven home through perl by using the following code.I am using this code for email notification script.

use TeamSite::Config;
my $iwhome = TeamSite::Config::iwgethome();

how should i get teamsite server name or interwoven server name and user name through perl in the same way.Please help.

A lot depends on the context - including, but not necessarily limited to:

)For username in CGI scripts it's either in the form data or the cookie data, for command line scripts it again depends on how the code is being initiated - if via an externaltask, you should be able to ascertain the task owner from a task object. If in some other context, you'd have to examine what's available to you in terms of environment variables and such.

Well, you can get the host name using TeamSite::Config::hostname(). Which you would have been able to find out if you had simply read the perldoc.

As far as user, there are many things to consider as Adam pointed out. As soon as you give more context around your script and which user it is you want to get, someone should be able to help you.

thanks for ur such a nice reply.

I am using the teamsite 6.5 version.
it is a cgi script and i am calling the script through datacapture.cfg templating form.

I will try using the hostname() function....thts good if it solves my purpose.

I need the user name who is currently logged in to teamsite, in the cgi script file.

The user name should be passed in the post data as 'user_name'.

If you're having difficulties with this, check out show_env.ipl in /httpd/iw-bin. You can repoint your cgi to this and it will output all of the information passed to your callout.

It is basic cgi stuff. Read the perldoc on CGI, or if you prefer TeamSite::CGI_Lite.
