Bam team is always trying to improve current products and release updates in patch releases.
We have an idea to upgrade bam dataloader tool to have following functionality:
For database schema:
Multi executable create
1. Create scripts: creates the schema from scratch
2. Run create script twice or more - performs a clean up (drops all bam dedicated tables) and create bam schema again
Upgrade:
1. Receives the target version (everything up to D6.7) and upgrades to it.
Clean up execution data:
1. Receives date as a parameter (for example 1/1/2011 01:00:00) and deletes data from execution tables prior to this date
2. Remove SDT/Package from synchronization - receives a name and drops the definition of this SDT/Package from bam database (drops corresponding tables and the metadata, so when bam server is restarted, it will resynchronize this SDT again)
Any other useful ideas? did you encounter anything that you were missing?
