Urgent -- Permissions issues on cabinet/folder

Hi,

I'm setting myself read access on cabinet thru admin account from DA, but when I logged in to webtop I can see the cabinet in cabinets list but cannot see the content inside cabinets.

Could any one let me know the possible reason for this to happen.

What are your permissions on the folders in the cabinet? You probably don't have browse (at a minimum) access to them.

Hi Scott,

I'm trying to set permissions at cabinet level and believe it will cascade down on folders and documents. Is this not possible?

You first need to make sure that folder security is turned on (see the docbase config object). Then any folder created in a cabinet will recieve the same permissions as the cabinet. However, this only grants you access to the cabinet/folder properties, not the contents of the cabinet/folder. And this doesn't happen retroactively, meaning that as soon as you turn it on an automatic cascade of ACLS does not happen.

You will likely need to run some DQL to change the ACLs on the folders and contents you are interested in and setup a TBO to automaticlly cascade the ACL to folders and content in the future.
