Webtop caching the user name on logout, then showing the same on login

Hi All,

We're using Webtop 6.5. The user has his full name and login name configured. When logging out, his user name is being cached. When logging in again, his user name is shown, and it has to be modified to his login name to be able to login.

Is there any way for the user's login name to be cached rather than the username?

Webtop & DA *should* display the login name not the users display name. Sounds like a customisation is causing problems.

What versions you on? How does DA perform... assuming DA has not been customised

We've not done any customizations.

And DA does not have this problem.

Any idea where I can look to begin finding and solving the problem?

We're on Webtop 6.5 SP2

This is not out of box behavior. Can you provide screenshots to show us exactly what you are talking about (include the browser url)?

Attached please find the screenshots for the screens. Logging in the first time, then logout and login again. The user name gets cached, not the login name.

All help appreciated.

Which app server are you using and version number? Try clearing out the cache. On Tomcat, you delete webapp dir under working folder.

Also, have the user clear out browser cache. BTW - what version of IE is the user using?

Dear All,

This problem was not present on Webtop 6.5 SP2. However, after we patched and went to P1, this bug started appearing.

Currently, we have moved to 6.5 SP2 Patch 6, and the problem is no longer visible.

It would have been helpful if you told us that you had apply patch. Patches are NOT regression tested against all test cases. They are built to fix a specific bug. Most users dont actually have individual patches installed; they wait till the full service pack is released. I suggest you look into upgrading to SP6. Your patches and a lot of other bugs will be fixed with the service packs.
