Need clarification for "Applying a retention policy" through RPS

Hi all ,

Now i am working with RPS requirement. i got the requirement that "The System should allow changes made to a retention policy to be automatically applied in the classes and folders linked with that item".

In RPSA guide it is given that "After a retention policy has been applied, you can modify the duration of the phase"

My question is "suppose a folder has a policy applied to it.Now duration of that retention policy has changed through RPSA.whether this change will be reflected in all the objects contained in the folder"

From RMA User Guide:

Use Qualification Manager to manually qualify an object for promotion if its retention policy has been changed to add a valid authority or if the valid authority has been changed. For example, if you change the duration date in the retention policy and would like all previous object(s) to take the new value you would have to run the Qualification Manager to re‑qualify those objects.

Once the retention policy has been changed,

whether we have to manually run the qualification manager to reflect the changes in previous object

or the system itself will automatically reflects the changes in the previous object

Because the requirement is changes has to be automatically reflected..

I would read the guide for further details. My guess is that it doesnt automatically update. Disposition (and calculation of disposition) is manual intensive. You dont want to destroy something automatically without someone approving the destruction.
