How to apply retention policy through custom CS method

Hi all,

I have written a content server method that will apply retention policy on the documents (using DFC 6.5 SP2).

The problem I face is: I have to include all the necessary RPS jar files in <Method_Server Home>/deploy/ServerApps.ear/DmMethods.war/WEB-INF/lib folder. In that case, the retention policies are getting applied to the documents. But. I face error while running system RPS jobs (Qualification, Promotion, etc..)

Can you please advice me on how to apply retention policy on documents through DFC 6.5 SP2?

Scott,

Did you copy the RPS jar files into method-server lib folder? If yes, can you please let me know in which folder teh RPS jar files need to be added. I faced problem while running the system RPS jobs after adding the RPS jar files to my method server's lib fodler. Also, can you please let me know what entry you made in CLASSPATH?

I have placed my jars and class files under jave_methods and tried running the method. But, I get this error:

com.documentum.rpm.services.RpmRetentionService incompatible with com.documentum.rpm.services.IRpmRetentionService

I am sure, I am using the correct jar files. Can you please let me know if I am missing something.

It sounds like you are making progress. I am not familiar with that particular error but it seems to me that this is purely a Java problem now. Are you sure the class and the interface are for the same version of RPS and have been compiled with the same version of Java? Are these the only copies of these two classes on the class path?
