Customizing TeamSite-MediaBin Connector

Has anyone had any experience customizing the view of MediaBin through the TeamSite - MediaBin connector?

I am aware of the basic browser modifications that can be made via the window.open command such as:

window.open(url,'MediaBinBrowser','scrollbars=no,menubar=no,height=400,width=550,resizable=yes,toolbar=no,location=no,status=no');

However I'm more interested in modifying the actual browse view within MediaBin - I'd like to see metadata associated with images as opposed to just image thumbnails and filenames.

Any insight into this is greatly appreciated - also a direction towards the appropriate documentation would be helpful - the ECM Admin guide skims over actual development of the connector.
