Bulk import through DFC

Hi,

Actually what my question was,

I want to import 1000 documents from my loacl filesystem to docbase through DFC programming in that i want to put all those 1000 documents details like name,location,etc in one EXECL file and first i have to read that excel file and get those location details,using that location details i have to import 1000 documents into docbase.

Thats the query,can u pls any one guide me how to do that.

1. Read the filenames along with its path from excel column and keep in in a string array or array list

2. Process each file in a for loop or while loop

3. Set document attributes.

4. Import the file to repository.

Your approch will work and I have implemented this kind of requirement in one of my earlier projects.

Please add the required jar files in your class path for doing operations in Excel document. You can also use the below link for reference.

Thanks for your reply.

But actually my requirement is

1.Directly we will not give paths in the program.

2.We provide that paths in one EXCEL file from that we read that paths

through program and use those paths to import corresponding documents.

can u please guide me that way.

I have actually user that approach but the Excel file had the csv format which can be parsec easily using some apache-lang libraries.

what ur saying is first i will read that excel file columns and put those into the arraylist and then iterate through that list,get those files through for loops and set the attributes to that files and ipmort to docbase.

right
