Changing file folder when an attribute value is changed

Hi,

I have archived Contract documents in PDF in cabinet according to this hierarchy ('Contracts\2010\Jan\files'). One of the attribute in doc type "contracts" is Contract Status which can have a value "ACTIVE" or "EXPIRED". Contract expires when ending date is reached which is another date attribute "end_date" in this doc type.

Is there any way to move the files into Expired Folder say ('Contracts\Expired\files') automatically once the ending date has reached ? Also wants to set the contract status attribute to EXPIRED.

This is the perfect requirement for a job.

Create a job that queries for all the contract-documents where contract_status='EXPIRED' and then move those documents into the expired-location.

Basic steps to create a Job (using composer):

1. Create your method-class and make it implement IDfMethod, IDfModule.  (u can choose between IDmMethod and IDfMethod but I suggest IDfMethod)

          public int execute(Map params, PrintWriter output) throws Exception
     {
          //params = the map with job params
          //output = the PrintWriter you should use to write any output/logging

          // create your logic here

          //query for all the expired documents
          //move them to the expired folder
     }

}

2. Bundle the class into a jar and create a jardef for it

3. Create a module for it (pick '[standard module]', not TBO/SBO), enter a name, and set your implementation jar + class.  You can leave interface open.

4. Create a method artifact.

- enter a name

- select java

- enter the name of the module you created in step 3 as the Command

- set the run controls (u can pick: synchronous and select 'use method server' and 'run as the server')

5.  Create a job artifact

- enter a name

- select the method you created in step 4

- select 'Standard Arguments' (this will suffice for your requirement)

- set the job schedule and run interval as you see fit.  (if there are ENORMOUS amounts of contracts to be processed daily, it might be a good idea to let the job run over night to balance the workload of the content server.  This can be done in DA after you installed the job).

6. Install the composer project and you're done.  (you might wanan check through DA to make sure all the settings are correct + to correct the job schedule if needed).  You can also run the job manually in DA and check if it ran successfully + view the output you wrote with the PrintWriter.
