FTP Adapter problems
blacke
OD 6.0.1 on Solaris 9
I'm trying to test out the FTP Adapter by ftping from the OD base server to another server, but I've had a few problems:
For the OD deployment to start, it is necessary to specify a rcvr with OD on it, so I specified the src server. The logs look like the deployment is happening between the src directory and the specified target directory on the 'fake' rcvr even though nothing is deployed there. Is there another way this is supposed to be set up to avoid this?
The deployment seemed ok through a couple of simulations including creating the ftp destination directory structures, so I did the actual deployment and it worked fine. After that, no ftp deployment takes place. I tried deleting a few files, then all the files, then the entire destination directory structure and no deployment. Other than the gradual removal of the destination tree, nothing changed. Any ideas why this would happen? I've included the files.
Last question: Can reverse deploys be done with adapters?

Searching some more in devnet, I found that the logging should have logged a problem in the ftpadapter.log file I have attached. If you muddle through it, you can see that the ftp deployment reported it's progress, but after that, there is no information where it should be printing it's filelist.
Thanks.

Good question! I need to fetch a file from a remote FTP server (which doesn't have an OD Receiver) to an OD 6.0.1 Base Server on Solaris 8.
What's a man to do?
Thanks,
S.
