How can I manually uninstall a repository in windows?

Hi Experts,

I had created a repository as global registry for several weeks ago. Two days ago I found out that the recources folder is empty and it is not functioning properly.

It is not production so i decided to delet the repository and create a new one. But when I uninstall it using server manager it did not uninstall it poroperly. I have dropped db tablespaces and deleted files even uninstalled all documentum products.

Now I have reinstalled all documentum and when I try to create e new repository I have found out that the old repository name is there.I think it is written somewhere in windows environment but i can't find it.Could you please help me to delete it?

Any suggestions on manually uninsttalling a content repository on windows?

That steps sometimes fail. For that case the you can do as following,

1. Delete all docbase data

2. Remove docbase services from window's services list, there are many tools in the internet for doing this

3. Delete database tablespaces

4. Delete any keys related to your docbase from window's registry.

- Where are you seeing this? Sometimes the repository name is cached in docbroker. After you delete repository, you should restart the docbroker.

I have uninstalled everything repository, docbroker but when i try to re create a new repository , I see the ols repository name in server configurator.

When i try to delete it using server configurator, it cannot.

Worst case scenario, create repository with different name.

It may not be uninstalled properly. Do you see it when you run the Server Configuration program and when you choose Delete repository option? If yes, go-ahead with the delete process and see if that helps.

Yes, it did not uninstall the repository properly, unfortunately now I can't even create a new repository with a different name.It gets an error while installing dars.

If your OS is Windows , go to <install Drive>/product/install and run the serverconfiguration.exe-> Run that and Select Express in the next Screen and Delete the repository.

Hi,

Well, I do that but it does not work. Because other serivces and configurations related to the repository are deleted by the repository configurator.Now when I try it again it gives an error indicating that some of the repository configurations are not found.

Are you using the same user login that was used to install Documentum Content Server (aka Server Manager)? If you didnt, there might be issues with permissions to services and/or binary files.

My suggestion is to uninstall everything and reinstall using an acct that has admin privileges to the computer.

Hi,

Actually I could not uninstall the old repository but I could create a new one. The errors while creating new repository were due to a bug in composer, as a result some of dar files were not installed properly.After installing composer hotfix I have manually installed the dars and the repository is now working fine.

Hi,

please let me add the following:

Edit your c:\Documentum\dba\dm_documentum_config.txt file,

it may contain some reference to the docbase you want to destroy, which gets read by the Server Configuration utility.
