How to Delete and dettach ASPECT from a document type in a docbase?

Hi All,

We have introduced an ASPECT in our Docbase and associated the ASPECT with the specific Object Type. Now we don't require that ASPECT anymore for that Document Type and also don't need that one in the DocBase as well. So how we can remove the ASPECT from the associated Object Type and also from Docbase.

For doing so we have tried some thing , as we have first deleted the corresponding ASPECT folder from from System/ Applications .Then cleard the "default_aspects" attribute from instance of dmi_type_info object type and also cleared the r_aspect_name attribute from dm_document. But still now when we are going to create any new dm_document, we are getting error like "Default ASPECT specified by <ASPECT_NAME> is not registered in the Docbase".

So please suggest how to remove ASPECT completly from a DocBase?

Hi,

To delete aspect from docbase,run below dql :

delete dmc_aspect_type where object_name ='<name of aspect>'

Did you try clearing the BOF cache in the client side?

Hi,

We have removed all the instances from dmc_aspect_type and dmc_module. also cleared all caches folder from Content Server , Application Server and also Local machine.

But still getting the error.
