Workflow manager

Hi,
Could you please tell me where can I find some samples (examples) of workflows?
I had been looking to everywhere but not been able to find one.
I have to many questions regarding to workflow manager.

For example,1. how can I create a cycle in workflow manager ?
2. I want to create a workflow for vocation request but how can I define who is the department director of the employee? The workflow manager user guide says that you can use aliases but how? How can the server the alias associated with the employees director?

3. Lets say an employee requested for vocation but the department director rejects his or her request, then how can I end the workflow? Since end activity can have only one incoming flow I cant design it in any way.
I have too many these kind of situations which I can't manage. Please help me with that issue.If you could send me some examples or any suggestions they would help very much.

1) You need to define performer for your activity. Performer can be defined at design time or it can be set to an alias. The value of the alias be defined at run-tiime.

2). You can create an automatic activity and assign server method to dm_noop_auto. This is basically an "automatic forward" activity.
