acl inherit problem

Dear all,

I set the flag in the Content Server: Inherit Permission Ser from Folder.

(both in customized webtop and in a not-customized DA) When I try to COPY a document with an ACL from one folder to another, the new created document doesn't inherit the destination folder acl.

Any idea?

Did you reinit (or restart) the server? You need to do this in order for the setting to take affect.

Sorry, I didnt read your post carefully. The copy function copies all the attributes (including the acl) to the new destination. You can verify the behavior of the Inherit ACL From Folder by trying to import a document into destination folder. If it works, then my original statement about copy if valid. You may want to look at the copy component in WDK reference to see if there is a config option to disable the copying of the acl and use the server setting.

When I copy the document, the acl is not inherited.

According to your sentence "You may want to look at the copy component in WDK reference to see if there is a config option to disable the copying of the acl and use the server setting" I'm trying to verify if there is some customization that can affect the standard behaviour. BUT I tried to copy a document both using a customized webtop and using a standard DA: the behaviour is exactly the same. Therefore if something customized has been delivered on the system (I didn't install anything so I can't exclude any option) it must be something that affect the whole behaviour!

Do you suggest something? I mean, where can I verify?

What I was trying to say is that acl getting copied (not inherited) is standard behavior. Since you already have customized webtop, it should be relatively simple to implement TBO on saveAsNew method to inherit the ACL as part of post processing of the super.saveAsNew().
