Combine/consolidate different documents into one version tree?

Hello,

I have a question and hope you all could help me with:

I have several documents which were imported into a documentum docbase. These documents were supposed to be different versions of each other. Thus, now, we are looking to combine them into one version tree and also want to keep their audit trails. For instances, I have document A, version 1.0, document B, version 1.0, document C, version 1.0. Documents A, B, and C were supposed to be versions of each other where document C is the latest version. I'm looking to combine these three documents into a version tree so that Document A is version 1.0, superseded, document B version 2.0, superseded, and document C, version 3.0 CURRENT and latest.

I have a feeling this can get complicated. However, what are the most straightforward ways to do so, so that I can keep the audit trails for these documents?

Update i_chronicle_id and i_ancestor_id for the documents to bring the documents into version tree.

So to put the individual documents into a version tree, you will need to change the i_chronicle_id, i_antecedent_id, i_latest_flag, i_derect_dsc, i_has_folder. The current version will always have i_has_folder = 1. the values for i_latest_flag and i_direct_dsc are opposite of each other.

There is no i_ancestor_id in the version.

Just thought to complete the post in case anyone is looking for the answer on how to do so.
