I think you need to be a little more specific about what you want. I'm assuming you have a DCT with a lot of links and you want your presentation template to display 3 columns of links?

The answer is, just do it. It's not rocket science. Add logic to your TPL to sort your list of links into 3 columns and then build the desired html and output it.

If you want to dynamically split your area in 3 or more columns then just use the number of links modulus to 10... and as per the result then divide the same to find out the number of columns+1 you want.

Jeff - I believe the word "modulus" was used intentionally and not intended to be confused with "modules" - as in:

my $remainder = @list % 3; # '%' is modulo operator
my $rows = int(@list / 3);
# ... based on the number of full rows + the remainders
# ... format the data in @list so that it is represented
# ... in 3 columns
