The document is confusing. They gave command to stop the iwndxmgr after adding the branch to branches.cfg
Page#19 from TeamSite Search 7.3 User guide has following info:
Specify the branch in the iwsearch-home/etc/branches.cfg file and then startthe index manager. The index manager reads the branch name during startupand indexes the branch.
They says start index manager?
We have TeamSite and Search 7.3.2 on separate servers. According to page#57 from same "TeamSite Search 7.3 User guide" document as follows:
If the index manager and search manager are restarted or brought down, youneed to keep them synchronized. If the index manager is brought down orrestarted, restart the search manager after restarting the index manager. If thesearch manager is brought down or restarted, it is not necessary to restart theindex manager.
UNIXTo start and stop the index manager, use these commands:/etc/init.d/iw.tsindex stop/etc/init.d/iw.tsindex startTo start and stop the search manager, use these commands:/etc/init.d/iw.tssearch stop/etc/init.d/iw.tssearch start
I can't find /etc/init.d/iw.tsindex and /etc/init.d/iw.tssearch in TeamSite Search7.3.2
Any help is greatly appreciated. All I need is how to start index manager after using iwndxmgrstop...
Thanks and Regards

Way to resurrect a 10 year old thread. Something is very wrong with your Search install if you're on a Unix server and you don't have /etc/init.d/iw.tsindex or iw.tssearch.
iw.tsundex was depracted years ago when, then Interwoven. went away from Verity search.
My 7.5 system has .iw.tssearch in /etc/init,d
Did someone actually install search ?
Oh that's right - there are a bunch of other executables in /etc/init.d for IDOL and the Indexer now. But they are still in /etc/init.d. The docs should be up-to-date on the names of those. This person doesn't sound like they have any experience at all.
I don't have too much experience in Search.
As I mentioned in the my first message, document says something which doesn't exists.
We are stopping index manager after adding branch to be indexed to branches.cfg and no direct answer to start index manager. Document says as follows: Again this document name is TeamSite Search 7.3 User Guide, if they don't have iw.tsindex under /etc/init.d why they are suggesting us to use that?? We are on Unix environment and using 7.3.2
Atleast they should give another command to start index manager like iwndxmgrstart under bin folder along with iwndxmgrstop. I am stopping and starting search instances as follows which I don't like. because there is no proper info in document nor support site.
/etc/init.d/iw.tssearch stop/etc/init.d/iw.idol stop/etc/init.d/iw.tsconnector stop
/etc/init.d/iw.tsconnector start/etc/init.d/iw.idol start/etc/init.d/iw.tssearch start
Any help is appreciated.
That's how you do it. Make sure you start/stop as root. You can write a simple wrapper script to handle it as well. It's not a big deal.
