required textarea is empty

Hi all,

anyone seen this strange behavior that a required textarea field is empty after reopening the dcr? I've got a test dct with four items two text items and two textarea items of these one is required. When I complete the form and save and deploy it and then reopen the dcr the required textarea is empty event though the value of that field is available in the dcr!!

Same problem i hv faced earlier.
If you are using "pathid" attribute then just remove that from textarea tag..and run ur code.

Is this a datacapture5.0.dtd or 6.0.dtd version DCT?
Is this for an "iwov" or "xml" style DCR?

I just want to make sure the details are here in context with regards to the removal of the pathid attribute to solve this problem.

Okay - that would make sense - since pathid is part of the 6.0 DTD and/or intended for "xml" style DCRs.

Well for me it's a datacapture6.0.dtd and for dcr-type="iwov". Does that make any difference.

Yup - this is still sounding "good" as I believe pathid is only intended for "xml" style DCRs - so the fact that it caused problems in an "iwov" style DCR is "bad-but-okay" (in that it shouldn't break the DCT/DCR relationship, but thus far nobody has claimed that this breaks "xml" style DCRs in which pathid has meaning)

Note that dcr-type="xml" should be used if you are using syntax from datacapture6.0.dtd.

Sorry have to bring this up again. This time its the browse button wich is empty after reopening a saved dcr:

No Pathid in the datacature.cfg and dcr-type="iwov"

See the previous reply from anisha - which I believe is correct.
If you want to use datacapture6.0 DTD - you need to define your DCT as being of type "xml".
If you want to use a DCT of type "iwov" you need to use the datacapture5.0 DTD

You're specifying the 6.0 DTD and using elements like root-container and attributes like location - but declaring the DCT to be of type "iwov" and thus I believe you are in the realm of indeterminate behavior.
