Accessing Target server directories

Hi

I have a requirement to delete the folder/subfolder in TS as well as in Target Server

A workflow will be provided for deleting files from workarea,staging and target. User will have to select a file and then select the delete workflow.

If the user selects directories, which contains sub directories with files, then it will check whether the target directory contains any files or sub-directories inside the selected dir, then it should not be deleted and the same need to be informed back to the user.

Is there any way to check the target server directory whether it contains any files or sub-directories inside the selected directory from TS through workflow/open deploy?
If yes how?

If you're writing custom code - you can write something that will perform a check on the target server (writing your own client/server program, mapping drives, etc.)

If you run OD in simulation mode (-sim) you can probably look through the logs to see what it would delete if you had not been in simulation mode - though I don't recall whether it will show you the files within directories that are to be deleted.

There is nothing built-in to either TS or OD to provide what you are asking for though - so regardless, you're going to have to write some custom code if you want to do this.
