DM_API_E_BADID - while opening an object in Taskspace

Hi All,

Few days earlier we had an issue in our workflows. We tried to fix it and it resulted in lots of duplicates in the user's inbox. Then we did lots of workarounds to remove them. All went fine. Now one of the user still has the object in his inbox on clicking which it throws the 'DM_API_E_BADID' error. I am sure that it was because of the attempts we did to remove the object from the inbox.

I see there were lots of discussions opened regarding this error. But couldnt find related to my issue, hence I opened a new thread. Now, all we need is that to open the object, add a comment and close it, thats it. We dont want to do any other operations on that object.

When I executed the GET_INBOX query, the below attributes are concerning me.

pkg_object_id=0000000000000000

pkg_object_name=empty

pkg_object_type=empty

pkg_content_type=empty

when other objects have proper values. I knew the correct values for the above attributes. So my wild guess would be if somehow I can update these values, I can open the object and add a comment and close it. My knowledge in Documentum is very minimum. So it would be really helpful if someone help in this issue.

Thank you for your reply.

I believe dequeue API is for removing an object from the queue (inbox). But I dont want to do that. I am getting the BADID error because the attributes were collapsed. I need to find a way to update the correct attributes to fix the error and successfully should be able to open the object in Taskspace.

Have you tried dequeueing this task and recreating a new one? Once a queue item gets corrupt, its hard to "repair" it. Much simpler to create new task. If you are still getting this problem with new queue item, then your data dictionary cache might be coruuthen try republishing data dictionary and restarting your app server.

hello, as I remember there is addpackage API, i used it in the past in similar situation. Or check attributes of this dmi_workitem object, find related dmi_package object and update it.
