Configure Auto Dcr With .xml Extension

Hi

I Am Using Team Site 6.5,

I Want To Store My Form Data In A Xml File.i Have Set The Auto Dcr Functionality.the Form Data Is Not Saved With .xml Extension.is It Possible To Configure The Auto Dcr Functionality With .xml Extension.if Anyone Knows Kindly Help.

Hi
You cannot set the extension for DCR. But u can choose the format the DCR gets stored.

For that make sure u have given DCR type="xml" in templating.cfg file.
i.e

I believe AutoDCR option is used to name the DCR automatically based on timestamp ,but not to set the DCR type.

Whatever dcr-type (iwov/xml) you are setting u cannot see the extension on generated DCR.

If you must have a .XML extention on your files you could work this in to the submit workflow - if the file attached to the job is in .*/template/.*/data/.* and doesn't end with .xml, rename to .xml before submitting.

Have you tried using IWDCRInfo.setDCRName() ?

This IWDCRInfo.setDCRName() should be intialised at which point, i mean ,

like onsave or onsavenamespecified

because i cant find any event handler that is intialised whenever i press my finish button. It straight away open the save dialog box .

You can set the content ID / DCR name at any point between
onFormInit and onSaveDone*

The DCR will actually get saved as whatever name you require

1.when you choose to save it as that name
2.Or when you explicitly call IWDatacapture.save()

In either case you would need to set the DCR name anytime in between form initialization and when the save actually occurs,firing the onSaveDone

I am not sure if Auto-DCR naming will generate an content ID till it is actually saved, So assuming that it behaves that way,
1. you could force a save by IWDatacapture.save() onFormInit
2. then get the DCR name and then
3. add the xml extension to it
4. and then save it again,
5. In which case you will have a duplicate record.
(unless ofcourse the basic assumption is wrong)
