Hi,
We are in the process of implementing documentum. We are faced with a unique situation where a banking instruction might have multiple type of transaction like fund transfer in local currency, fund transfer in foreign currency, demand draft, etc..
In the banking system, these three transaction are handled by three different modules and they create three different transaction reference number. As a policy, we want to have documentary image backing every type of transaction. In this case we have one image with three transaction.
We want to duplicate the image after batch scanning and route them to three different work queues being :
fund transfer in local currency,
fund transfer in foreign currency,
demand draft
Please assist whether this facility is available in captiva at the time of splitting of document belonging to a batch having multiple type of document.

Hi,
We are the nascent stage of implementation. We are exploring the following busines flow to exploit the capability of the documentum :
Scanning of multiple type of document like bank guarantee, letter of credit, teller voucher payment, expense payment, etcc. in one batch file.
Facility of sorting these file on the type of category mentioned above.
Store it as image
We want to implement different work flow for different type of document mention above. Objective of having one consolidated scanning is to centralize and do volume scanning.
If anybody has done similar implementation, please provide feedback.

Re: Digital sorting of multiple type of document
Look at the Captiva Dispatcher product. It can be used to classify scanned images. Once you have classified the appropriate doc type, you can create different workflows for each type.
Also, please move this thread one to the Documentum Developer Network. Select "Move discussion" from the Actions menu and choose the appropriate forum, as described in the Guidelines. EMC is trying to have technical questions posted there:
