Trusted Logon with IIS Questions

Platform is WSMP4.1SP1 on Windows 2000, IIS 5.0.

WSMP TomCat is using port 8080, IIS is using 80.

Followed the product manual to configure Trusted Logon with IIS. Looks like it's not working and have the following question,

1) What's the URL to use after Trusted Logon is enabled? Is it http:///worksitemp/index.jsp or http:///worksitempTrusted/index.html or other?

2) What's the purpose of putting the "Trusted Logon" check box to the original index.jsp?

3) For the behaviour of Trusted Logon, is it mean that if I have already logged- in to the domain (with AD), then through Trusted Logon, I don't need to re-type user name and password again when accessing WSMP?

Please help.

I've configured the Trusted Logon and now is working, by using the following URL,

http://iwovdms/worksitempTrusted/index.html

the above URL is my guess only but it works, please correct me if it's wrong.

Besides, the following are some follow-up questions on Trusted Logon,

- What's the purpose of putting the "Trusted Logon" check box to the original index.jsp (p.35 of the product manual)?

- The above URL works fine, but it's only for normal case, how about those "WSMP Links"? e.g. the following is a link generated by "Send Link" within a workspace,

http://iwovdms/worksitemp/link//V3/INTERWOVEN/C/F$100/W$300/

When I click on it, it will show HTTP 404 error. How can I enable Trusted Logon for those "links" pointed to WSMP objects?

As a first thing, please use the latest hotfix (HFB5 or later, I would suggest). WorkSiteMP 4.1 SP1 build had a bug in which the sendlink url is not working from IIS (/link servlet was not properly mapped from IIS to Tomcat).

I believe the manual does not recommend to use the /worksitempTrusted/index.html url and instead suggests to modify the index.jsp to add the 'Trusted Logon' checkbox. Users should come to the login page and then click the TrustedLogon checkbox to use the single sign on, they need not type in their username/password. Alternatively they can type in their real CMS user name/password and login normally. This way you can achieve dual login feature and this is very important if you expose the WorkSite MP app to non-domain users (users connecting to the webapp from outside your corporate domain; here the trusted logon would not work, I guess)

The above approach handles the dual login requirement as well as the session-timeout-relogin and logoff cases properly. If you are looking for auto-login for domain users (bypassing the normal login page with trusted logon checkbox), you should enhance the index.jsp to handle this, please pay special attention to session-timeout and explicit logoff cases, otherwise you might end up in an infinite loop wasting resources both at client browser and webserver.

Sorry, I do not have any sample for now and also the requirements could vary a lot from site to site. But you can build a cookie based state tracking to hanlde the silent-trusted-login, session-timeout and logoff cases. Please build a sample and test it. If you are facing problems, please post your modifications here, I will help you out.

After appling HFB7, the link problem still exists, IIS reports HTTP 404 error.

Please re-configure IIS. the HFB1 and later releases contain a change in uriworkermap.properties file used in IIS.

I've re-added all the 3 virtual directories and also the ISAPI filter. Trusted logon is still working fine, but URL links still shows IIS HTTP 404 error.
