Problem in Full Text Searching with non-Installation Owner account.

Joydeep85

PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: ------------------------------------

Full Text(DctmServer_Indexagent & DctmServer_PrimaryDsearch) is Properly Installed in Docbase and services are running. Complete Indexing done on the document type "artwork" [A subtype of dm_document]. But when searching the files with some content from the file, the search result is not listing those documents. We are searching with Contributor accounts.

Where as with Installation Owner account all documents can be Searched.

ACL for those documents are Ok as dm_world has Read.

With Contrubutor account in Full Text Search, the dm_documents are getting listed but not all the documents of type "artwork".Very few of them are listed. Where as Full Indexing done on artwork table.

We are Using AIX-5. CS 6.6 P06. DA with Patch P06. Also installed DsearchQueryPlugin_6.6_aix patch in CS.

Can you suggest me what to check / what to do for resolving the issue?

Several Questions:

Have you opened a EMC support ticket yet? This should be easily tested and can be verified by them
Are you using FAST or xPlore?
Also is this single CS, single FT server configuration?
Have you tried deleting and re-indexing one of the documents that is not getting returned correctly as part of the search. Maybe something happened during the index process.

"Have you tried deleting and re-indexing one of the documents that is not getting returned correctly as part of the search. How to do that?"

- The easiest way to resubmit a document to be indexed is to update it. Locate the document and update one of the attribute values and save. The saving of the object will trigger re-indexing of the object.

I have tried as you suggested. but still FT search is not working on that document with Normal Contributor account.

One thing to notice is :- with Contributor account all dm_document s can be searched properly. But the same is not working on subtype of dm_document (artwork) .

Any reason???

What version of Content Server are you using? Sounds like subtype is NOT configured to get indexed properly.

Joydeep85

We are using CS 6.6 Patch P06.

And can you tell me how to check that whether subtype is NOT configured to get indexed properly?

I dont remember off-hand, but you should be able to ask this on support ticket.

Hi Joydeep85, Have you already try to do a FTDQL query as super user ? Do you have the same issue with this way ?

Joydeep85
