loading a collapsed container

I have a container on my TS 6.5 template that I want to appear collapsed when the user loads the template. However, it appears that something in TS is 'opening' the field after the template loads.

When I add this code, the javascript popup shows that it is collapsed (and it in fact appears to be collapsed) However, as soon as I close the popup, the container expands.

Is there a trick to get this container to actually show up collapsed when the form loads?

In the datacapture.cfg file, maybe include default=0 in your container definition. This works for replicants and should work for containers as well.

default=0 did not seem to have any impact.

I was able to get it to work by using the following: It seems the expansion hapens very shortly after the init code completes.

That seems to work, though it isn't quite what I want. In that example, there is no instance of the container by default. So the user has to expand it, and then enter data in it.

What I would like is to have a container that defaults to the collapsed state, whether or not it has data in it.

Ironically, this seemed to work fine in TS 6.0 with an 'unsupported' formAPI call. now with a supported API, it does not work properly. Smiley Sad

The reason this is happening is because focus is automatically being set on the first element in the form. Because of this, even though your form is collapsed before loading, it expands again after the page loads because an element inside the container receives focus.

that was actually my initial approach. However, even after setting the focus on a different element, TeamSite decided it wanted to reset the focus on the first element. The next approach was to use a timeout. This somewhat worked. However, the best solution I could come up with was using a hidden element as the first element.

There is a much easier method in achieving this.

In templating.cfg (iw-home/local/config) under the category you add:

viewoptions replicant-render = "collapsed"

This should collapsed all replicants within the template!

No it does not.
- If you have nested containers/replicants, only the inner-most will open collapsed.
- There are inconsistencies in Container/Replicant behavior.
- The whole thread started as a discussion of how to collapse some Containers - at least that's how I read it.
- Therefore

- Would be nice to have opening mode as Container / Replicant attribute
