WorkFlow Problem

Hi,

I need to send a mail to managers before deploying, for this purpode i have added an external Task, in command of external task i am executing an ipl file to send mail to managers.

while doing this i am getting this Error:

Invalid workflow :

Error:00001:Failure in operation
Error:Task has self as successor @line 146
Error:No Successorset in task
Error:Missing successors in external task

But, when i remove that external task it works fine.

Let us consider i have three tasks X, Y, Z.

When i make X->Z ----------- It works fine.
I need to modify this flow by adding an external task to send mail like:

X--->Y---->Z : When i add an external task Y for sending mail i am getting above error;

Environment :

TS : 5.5 on Solaris.

Any Help will be appreciated.

This sounds pretty basic - and if you had posted your WFT, someone would probably have been able to show you exactly what's wrong in the code.

I suggest you re-read the error message you are seeing - think about what that might mean, and then look very carefully at the wft code you are writing.
If you still can't figure it out by yourself - post the wft.

Well, you're only showing us the code you think might be involved - and I'd have to admit that looking at what you posted it seems that it *should* work.

However - if you can turn on workflow debugging and generate the job description file - it would probably verify the error message - or at least provide a better sense of what's going on (so we don't have to guess what $localizer->format(...) and such resolve to), and if you posted (as an attachment) the entire wft code - so we could see what is happening both when the condition you show is true and when it's false it might become clearer.

Also - presumably the generate_html task is an externaltask - you could probably have the script that you use there send the email rather than adding another task (which will have to exec another externaltask script and thus reduce performance a bit).

Clearly, when you are adding in this email_send task - you have somehow manage to make it point to itself as its own successor - despite the [apparent] fact that you seem to have adjusted the successor tasks correctly when doing the link_tasks().
