Show version component in a custom frame on document selection

Hi, I am triying to do the following:

First of all I divided the workarea into two frames. The top frame is the classic workarea and the bottom frame is a custom frame. I need that when a user select one document(only documents not folders) from the workarea, the bottom frame refresh it self and show all the version of this documents.(Hope that the solution use the versions component)

You are customising Webtop? Version?

You will probably need to modify classic.js and maybe classic.jsp

What will your panel do when an item with no versions is selected? i.e. an inbox task?

Or have you limited your customisation to the cabinets view only? In that case what about My Files, My Cabinet, .....

Hi Brian, thank you for your reply. Yes I am triying to customize Webtop. The version we are using is 6.5 SP3.

Until now I customize clasic,jsp and added an horizontal frame in the bottom of the workarea. Inside this frame I put a link with a

postComponentJumpEvent(null,'versions','_self','objectId','0901e242800001a8');

This function work perfectly for what I need.
I am having dificults to intercept when a user click a document inside the content area to obtain the objectId of the selected document and call the function described. So if will be great if you give me the directions for that.

I only want that this component get called when a user click a document, in other cases this frame should show a message, something like "No Document Selected"

sorry but have had difficulty with that my self. Never did figure it out. At a guess you need to look at dynamicActions.js file
