Hi All,

Hi i have one requirement i will now explain it clearly

There are three roles in my project 1.Accountable-who can create a document

2.Contributor-who can edit the doc and add some data

3.Admin-who can do all things

Here after creation of document it will be in DRAFT state,at the time of creation mail notification will be sent to

Contributor and cc will be goto Accountable

mail subject-->docbase name: : New draft document creation

subject:

The document “Title of the document” on wich you are declared as contributor has been created in Dor Database : ‘link to database’.

and in the case where accountable or contributor changing state mail will be sent

thats the situation

can u pls guide me how to do it.

To get the customized mail, you need to change the code in the method Mail() inside the dm_event_sender.ebs. You will find it at $DM_HOME/bin.

This Mail() method is called for every event for which the 'sendmail' attribute have the value 1 in the 'dmi_registry' table. I am not sure but mostly for all workflow related events this 'sendmail' attribute is set to 1, if not you need to update it to 1.
Then customize the mail method as per ur requirment. For ur problem you need to customize the subject_line variable for the "dm_completedworkitem" event.

Or you can change the installation owner email id and let the event sender file without change.

If your system is unix, then try with the sender_name parameter.

Hi Mathew,

Actually we dont have any workflows in my project,what is happening was after creating the doc it will be in DRAFT state in the draft state contributor edit the doc and update that doc and send it to To be validated state manually,so there is no workflow

- How are you sending the document? Are you doing this within Webtop or exporting the document and sending it via email? If within Webtop, then you are probably using workflow -> ad-hoc workflow.

Hi,

Actually we dont have any workflow related to that,we have one lifecycle and TBO to promote and demote.

You still didnt answer the question - how are you "sending it to be validated"?

For that we written TBO to promote the state and demote the state and we written one method like doSave() to save.

You can use that TBO to invoke the dm_event_sender.ebs and send emails.

Hi,

Actually i am new to this project,before me this was developed and released and clients again wants some changes in that.

In this project there are no workflows used only two life cycles they used and one TBO they used in that they written methods like doDemote(),doPromote(),doSave() to demote a state,promote a state and finally save the doc.

next what there req is as i mentioned above when ever new document created mail will be sent to creator and whoom u mentioned as contributor in properties of doc,thats the requirement.

In your TBO's doSave method you can invoke the dm_event_sender.ebs.

Hi,

Actually i have written one class named MailBuilder through that i want to invoke the mail.

Where ever i want to send a mail i will create a new object of mailbuilder class and invoke methods like
