i_chronicle_id as a ID common for all versions of a document

Please confirm that I have understood essence of property i_chronicle_id in dm_document objects correctly (this is important for me):

Since a document is created, all its versions (starting with 1.0) will have the same value of i_chronicle_id. New versions may be created; or deleted (including the 1.0); but all versions of the versions tree will have the same i_chronicle_id

Am I completely right?

Yes, you are completely right. i_chronical_id is the Object ID of the root object of the version tree that contains this object.

Even if you delete the root the i_chronicle_id will remain the same for new and existing versions.
