xCP - BPSIntegration Error

Hi,

I am trying to invoke a process from a task form to send a custom email and archieve the email sent in one of the case folders. In the process I have defined the case folder as package and setting the documentId as the parameter to the process. From the user prespective, he/she will have a button - Send Notification and it is clicked a new form will be loaded to capture the email message and the sent email will need to be archieved in the case folder.

Now i have 2 questions:

1. In the process if I define the case folder as madatory package, when the user clicks the Send Notification button, the custom email form is loaded and after clicking the send button the start process form is getting loaded and it waits for the user to add the manatory case folder as package thought the case folder is added. I am not sure why this is hapenning as I have already mapped the documentId as the parameter in the invoke button. I have attached the task showing the package and case folder added.

2. I tried making the case folder package as NOT mandatory, then i am receiving the below error:

Attached is the process template. The Process Data Mapping is where i am getting this error. The screenshot of the process data mapping is also attached.

Hi Rajesh!

You cann't bind Body and package like this. You need to add From Template to node Data and only after that to bind something to the contents of the package (rather not to the package itself, but to one of its variables). It will look something like this:

Hi,

I am trying to bind the case folder as package to the process that I am trying to start by clicking a Invoke button.

1. I created a process template - "get_borrower_concern". I added package as a custom folder type with few process variables.

2. I created an action in taskspace as Start the specified process with the selected objects

3. I added an invoke button in the task form and calling the action created in step 2 above with input parameter --> Override value -->package/documentId

4. When user clicks the button, the case folder needs to be dynamically added as package to the get_borrower_concern process created in step 1.

I need help for the above use case.

Hi,

If you choosed to route the Selected objects for Action, now you just need to choose false from the Send as Attachment list. And your routed object will binded to get_borrower_concern as the package.

Or if you select true from Send as Attachment list it will binded as Attachment[0], so you will need to bind its r_object_id to package's r_object_id.

Hi,

Thank you for your response., now that I am able to map package attributes to the email body.

But, in the process initiate form i have form fields for email_subject and email_body which are process variables. Now when i click the invoke button the initiate form is loaded and whatever i enter in subject field and body field is going as empty.

Why is this happening.. basically what i wanted to do is.. capture all the data entered in the process initiate form and assign them to process variables using data mapping. I am thinking that if we bind the form fields to the process variable the data capture will happen automatically when the form is submitted.

Am I correct? if not how do i bind the form data to process variable to capture the data.

Any help will be appreciated.

Rajesh,

Yes, you are correct. A process intiate form use all process variables (from one process), you can place form controls and bind whem to any process variable.

Can you try to start a process from Process tab, fill data in process initiation form and see what you get?

Also, please look at the logs.

Is this issue is met only in one process? Can you create another (simple) process and create for it initiation form and try with it?

Hi Konstantin,

From the process tab it works fine, the subject and body are all captured and i can see the values in the email.

But from the task form using the invoke button the form is loaded and when submitted the values are going as null.

Hmm, quite strange.

Actually it does not matter how you start a process (with the Processes tab or with Invoke button).

Let's clarify something from your previous post:

capture all the data entered in the process initiate form and assign them to process variables using data mapping

Why did you use data mapping if you can place on the Initiate Process form template email_subject and email_body process variables? Since the Data Model of Initiate Process form template and Task form template is tightly linked to the process variables.

So when a user will start the process (by pressing Invoke button), he just fill these fields, the process will stared with filled variables and there is no need use any data mapping.

Or I missed something or the system is buggy
