import document and set CreateDate
Marco_at_NL
Hello
I'm trying to import a new document with a different CreationDate with this command (C#):
document.SetAttributeValueByID(AttributeID.nrCreateDate, new DateTime(2000,1,1);
When i check the importerd document, the creationdate is still the date of import instead of the assigned creationdate.
Currently i don't see any other way then sending a sql statement to update the creationdate. Correct?
Thanks
Marco

CreateDate is set by the Server; it cannot be set via the SDK.

So the only way to change the creationdate it to use a direct sql statement?
Thanks

Well, we don't recommend it. Would it work to use our Import Unitility tool?

Yes, but in my import tool i'm also importing security/history/etc. from another system (and do some intelligent replace actions to change properties from one value to another value). I don't think this is possible with the standar import tool ;-)
ps. i've exported all documents from another system to xml (with all information) and reimport it back using the information from the xml files.
Thanks

The way to get around this would be to import using the server tool then edit them (to add security, history, etc.) afterwards.

Hi
Is the information that the creation date can't be changed using the SDK still up-to-date?
Thanks

The SDK does not support setting creation date as the timestamp is governed by the server.
