Does xPlore support wildcards?

Hi,

I would like to know if xPlore supports wildcards like *,%,?

FAST was supporting them but it seems xPlore does not. I can not find any documents regarding wildcards.

Is it possible to enable wildcard support by making modifications in indexserverconfig.xml or some other file?

I found the answer in;

xPlore 1.0 Administration Guide, page113.

You should add a parameter named "fast_wildcard_compatible" into "dm_ftengine_config" object.

I just read in the xPlore v1.1 release notes (part of the Documentum v6.7 release) and it says the following under New Features:

Wildcard support now allows selective wildcard use in property searches. For example, a search for object_name contains "07052010*” (a date) returns a document named "07052010.pdf”. This document is not returned in an xPlore 1.0 search because "07052010" is a fragment of the name property. (The wildcard is ignored in xPlore 1.0.)

Johnny, we install xPlore v1.1 on windows box. full text search is working fine. For example, let say the document name is 07052010.pdf. when user execute basic search '07052010' return nothing. "no result found". however when they type '07052010.pdf' it finds the document. I was wondering does xPlore allow partial search. Or is it something in configuration that we need to set so it finds and display?
