Auto Invoke of modal popup when it returns to the calling component

Hi All,

We have a requirement which requires customisation of taskspace. We have a jsp in which when we select a file and click on a button which calls a WDK component with other jsp where we have options like 'previous', 'next' and 'finish'. When I click on "finish" button, it starts a workflow and comes back to the original JSP.Now after coming back to the first JSP it should also display a popup window showing the status of the workflow.

The form I used for the taskspace is FolderContent form.

Is there any way where after returning back to the calling component, an action can be invoked automatically. Has anyone worked on this kind of requirement earlier. If so please help me to achieve this functionality.

As a workaround, you can define a field on the folder and then map the workflow status to that folder attribute. This way any time you view the folder properties, you will see the current status of the workflow.

We did this on a past project.

Hi Johnny,

We are deleting that file from the repository once the workflow is triggered. So, we thought of having a registered table and storing the workflow status along with the workflow id as the primary key. Now, my question is related more of WDK i.e., how can we invoke this modal popup action automatically after the component is returned from the other component.

Can you please provide more details of how have you implemented this kind of requirement.

We didnt implement this as WDK component, since our solution used the OOTB features of Taskspace.

Did you try implementing the onReturn method of the calling component? From this method, you can jump/call another component...

Can you please help me in getting this done by using OOTB functionality of taskspace. I went for customisation because could not find any way to implement directly through configurations. Can you briefly explain me what are the steps followed in your application.

Hi Hariprasad,

The component has setComponentReturn() by default in the application. When I use setComponentJump and implement this it is working fine. I dont know why but it does not work when I use setComponentReturnJump() and jump to the new component.
