I´m trying to install the Dqman in my computer, but it said that requires the dmcl40.dll. I`ve found out that it is a Documentum Client. How can I get it?. Does it require license?

even though it is deprecated, you can find the dll file in your content server installation directory at $DOCUMENTUM\product\<version>\bin folder
Yes, its part of Desktop Client.
Hi,
dqMan 4 also supports dfc 6. All you need is the dmcl.dll from documentum and a dfc installation on your computer. dmcl.dll is also supplied by documentum, e.g. with composer, samson etc.
dqMan detects automatically, if dmcl.dll is available and will then use dfc. If it is not available, it will use "old" dmcl40.dll.
You can also have both clients installed. dqMan will use dfc by default, or, if called with "dqMan -ForceDMCL", it will use dmcl.
Hello danonino,
So what was the resolution? req dll is present in <HOME>/product/bin ... but still I am getting the error ..Plz help
I copied the dmcl.dll file into my \Windows\ directory and dqMan is working for me now.
Hello Everyone,
Today I downloaded dqMan_5 dump and I installed in my laptop with Win 7 [Enterprise]. My system does’t have any DCTM setup like DFC, Composer…, so when I click on dqMan application launcher then it’s throwing error like “No documentum client found. Please make sure that either dmcl40.dll OR dcoumentum dfc together with dmcl.dll installed on to this computer and is reachable by system path”.
Is my system required DFC installation? OR It requires only dmcl.dll, if so where should I copy that file? I believe under C:\Window, but I don’t have admin rights on my laptop to copy. If I copy how tool knows the docbase configuration information..
Please suggest me on how do I setup successfully without dfc installation & without admin rights?
I would appreciate very much help on this.
Thanks in advance.
You don't have to install DFC. I just took the dfc.dll from the Compose installation and copied it into my Windows directory.
You need to have some kind of Documentum Client software in order to connect to Documentum. Composer is the easiest thing since there is no Install process.
is it working?
Yes. It is working after copying the file as mentioned by Robert.
You can get a copy of dmcl.dll from Composer or from Documentum server and put it under dqman install folder.
