Teamsite Search On Devnet

I am trying to learn a lot about Teamsite Search, But couldn't do it Because on availability of whole lot of material either on support or devent on search. Can anyone point me in the right direction. Is Teamsite serach capable of searching databases? Well according to support site, Teamsite Search can be used to search only on database, which is the event subsystem database. Can this be configured for multiple databases? Any advice in this regard is very helpful.

You can use TeamSite search only to search TS backing store. Files which are in Editions and Staging Area. You cannot configure TS search to search any other repository.
