Hijacking lookup button on search screen problem
David_ISA
Hi,
I am trying to hijack a lookup button for custom1 on the search screen and i'm havnig a problem getting my string to write back into the field on the search profile field. No text at all is being written back to the search screen.
The exact same code used to work for Desksite 6.x but doesn't seem to work for Desksite 8 (sp1a). I've checked the sdk and used the sample code from there but i have the same problem. Is there another context item i am suppost to add for the search screen in v8?
Here is the snippet of code i use to add the string to the conext item:
Set contextItems = ICommand_Context
contextItems.Add "IManExt.SelectedString", stringForField
contextItems.Add "IManExt.Refresh", True
Thanks in advance

That might be a bug. I've also tested using "IManExt.SelectionDlg.SelectedString" as well as "IManExt.SelectionDlg.LookupString" but to no avail.
This is an alternative way of populating the search profile field in 8.0:
Dim oDlg As SearchDlg
Dim oParms As IManProfileSearchParameters
Dim odms As ManDMS
Dim sDlgName As String
' Use mContext instead of the line above as mContext is already a globally declared variable
' which holds the ContextItems Collection passed in by ICommand_Context.
sDlgName = mContext("AppName")
If sDlgName = "Search Dialog" Then ' A hardcoded value in source which identifies the current dialog.
Set oDlg = mContext("IManExt.CallingObject")
Set odms = oDlg.NRTDMS
Set oParms = odms.CreateProfileSearchParameters
oParms.Add imProfileCustom1, stringForField
oDlg.IManSearchParameters = oParms
End If
' Set the Refresh context item to indicate that the display should be
' updated.
mContext.Add "IManExt.Refresh", True
