Is there a way to get TeamSite to preserve XML entities when saving XML templates?

In the source XML file, the following item exists:
Microsoft® Windows 98, Me, 2000, or XP

When I open it and save it in TeamSite, it gets changed to this:
MicrosoftÂ® Windows 98, Me, 2000, or XP

The way in which i have implemented to tackle with Unicode characters is that I create a associative array table with character as key and its entity value as keyvalue.

And before saving just go thru the text replacing all unicodes with its entity values which when used later again transformed back to Unicode character.

Just a simple encoding decoding logic.

I realized my original post was 'escaped' when viewed on the web. Here is a better look at what they were.

What was in the xml file:
<Requirement>Microsoft® Windows 98, Me, 2000, or XP</Requirement>

What appeared after saving:
<Requirement>MicrosoftÂ® Windows 98, Me, 2000, or XP</Requirement>

I am not sure if a substitution would help here - I am trying to save this directly as XML, and TeamSite seems to be doing its own manipulation. Would FormAPI code be used to manually 'fix everything' as it is entered?

Another option which i can think off to use CGI_Lite module of Teamsite which has methods to escape and unescape html characters.

Just read out the module from your teamsite installed modules folder. Also this can only be used when creating DCRs programatically.

If you think off... any better solution... just post it.

Have you tried double-escaping it?

<Requirement>Microsoft&#174; Windows 98, Me, 2000, or XP</Requirement>

Alternativly have you tried just using the ® character?

The DCR should save with UTF-8 encoding (encoding any character as UTF-8) and if your generated HTML has the character encoding meta tag set to UTF-8 the browser should display the ® character without it needing to be entity escaped.
