Grants Management - Request Additional Documents fails

Hi,

I was trying with the Request Documents Activity of Grants Management,When Mgr1/Mgr2/mgr3 attempts to seek additional documents from the applicant,the applicant doesn't receive Email regarding Additional Documents required by Mgr,

But in case of any Deny or Notification, Applicant receives Email with specific reason given by Mgr but not in the case of Request Documents Activity.

Can you run it through the debugger?

I could run with debugger and I am able to see where it got stopped and i have shown the activity and also the console log in attachment.

Hi Tord,

I have filled the recepient details and able to proceed with that activity from debugger with manual initiate of workflow.

The issue is that if the manager request documents it points TO address corectly to the Email-id of the applicant prescribed in the form,

Request Document tab uses forms adaptor to invoke the REQUEST DOCUMENT process in Grants Management automatically.

In this case the TO address recepient didn't receive Email from the manager who requires additional documents to proceed further,while if the manager wants to deny/notification it sends an email to the recepient correctly whom is the same To address recepient of Request Document process.

What i mean to say is for deny/notification the activity succeeds and for Request documents it fails.Notify Applicant also uses forms adaptor.

Kindly suggest me solutions to proceed further.

Ok, I think I follow you now, when the process is invoked through the process init form it failes because of a null field.

On the form, verify that the adaptor settings are correct on the form. Something like this:

And then dump the grant request folder you are using so we can see all the attributes (iapi32.exe, dump,c,<objectid>), include it in your reply.

And lastly, turn on debugging for forms adaptors in your log4j.properties on your application server where you deployed TaskSpace (WEB-INF/classes/log4j.properties), no restart required.

log4j.category.com.documentum.xforms.adaptor=DEBUG

Find the adaptor invocation there and copy that part into a reply here.

Yeah, what I meant was use iapi32 to dump the object with the command dump,c,<objectid> which you did. So we can see there that the content_email is filled in.

Now, from the log file I can see that you have enabled debugging for adaptors which is good but you haven't tried to request documents so we can't actually see the behaviour of that adaptor. So keep this setting, and request for documents in the way that it fails and copy that log file here.

Specifically the rows that start with:

But for the form template and adaptor we are interested in.What you sent was for the .CopyDataToObjectAttribute adaptor of the Grant Manager Task Form, as seen below

If you look at the result of the adaptor invocation

You see that the from address is empty. And if you dump the user you are logged in as you'll notice that the user_address field is empty. So my guess is that that is the reason that the process fails.

If so, is there anything in the log file of the process engine and is there anything in the log of the email server?

And are kgovindan@localhost and Jeeva@localhost accounts on that email server?

Hi Tord,

Not so,The activity is not processed I am not able to receive mail in the inbox if the manager Request for documents.

As in the adaptor debugger log <from> Jeeva@localhost who is the manager requires additional documents uses Request Documents Option in his Taskspace which invokes Request Document process,by this process the email has to be sent to the applicant kgovindan@localhost.

But this doesnt happen and no email is received in the applicant inbox.

What i inferred in the previous message is that if i do this manually from the debugger i could receive email but not in the case of automatic activity which is to be the preffered process.

1. It works in the debugger, right? You've tested this now?

2. When you use the same values as in the debugger, but in a real grant case, it doesn't work?

If so, now that you provide values for all fields, could you provide the log file for the activity that fails?

Also along with this I have one more request,As this is also with respest to email hope i can ask you in the same thread itself,I tried to initiate Grants management by using offline as option,i.e Receive Application via Email...If i can proceed this in the same thread i can send you the error message in the next post.

Everything works in the debugger?
When triggered from within the grants management application with the exact same data the activity fails and nothing is written to the logs?
If you go into the Administration tab in TaskSpace and find your process instance, what is the reason that the activity fails there?

In Grants manager i have used only three roles,

Role Membership Username

grants_administrator form_user admin1

queue_manager

grants_manager form_user mgr1/mgr2/mgr3

queue_processor

grants_reviewer form_user reviewer1/reviewer2

In this roles i could see Administration tab only in admin1 user alone, but the user admin1can do the only the following operations:

view all grant requests that are rejected,pending,inreview,approved and denied.
Assign or reassign grant requesta to Grant manager.
View Worker performance,funding and grant trends Dashboards.

I am not able to view the inbox where i could find the failed task and its reason.

As i am new to Xcp please tell me where could i found the reason for the activty that fails.

I could login into ts_designer role and able to see the task which is stopped as shown in attachment.

But the activity shown resembles the mail send to applicant once the form is submitted stating form has been received and the grant request id.From this activity i could receive email in applicant inbox.I mean to say even it shows the task fails i am able to receive email and proceed with further activities.

In this case the content predefined in the process is send as email along with the request id.

But after this once the manager request documents only,applicant should be able to receive the email.Here the content is added on runtime when the manager sends for additional documents and this is not done.

Go to the Administration tab, and look at the process instance that failed and the details of the activity that failed.. Currently you are showing the inbox of the user you logged in with which is not showing any details regarding the failed activity.

I did checked with the process instance as as you said.

I could not interpret there the process (i.e) Request Documents which i want to check and the activity that fails.

Aas i said in my previous post it shows in send advanced notification which is mean to send email to applicant after submitting form.This was failed in process

instance,to my surprise i could receive the email of that activity with the same content provided in the process without any issues.

When i click Request Documents it points to other page as shown in attachment, there i have given subject and body for mail but no process was initiated and i could not see the failed instance in process instance.Is that process itself not initiated.

And along with this i have one more impotant issue to be fixed with high priority.As this is also with related to email, hope i can post here.I tried to initiate the Grants management using offline(email) as option by submitting odt form,but it shows cannot read xml content.If this can be posted here, i could provide logs else will create new thread.Please assist me on this issue also.
