OD Script Error

sandy_893

Hi,

I am trying to deploy files on a server (Server 1) on which the telnet port is blocked. We use ssh to connect to this server.

Now when i try to run a simple deployment script i get the following error:
Error : Exceeded all 3 retries to get a connection with the target OpenDeploy host.

If i run the same script on the other server (Server 2) (with telnet port open) it runs fine.

So i wanted to know wether blocked telnet port can be a issue. If it is, then is there any workaround.

Base
Windows 2000, OD 6.0

Recr (Server 1)
Linux, OD 6.0

Recr (Server 2)
Solaris 9, OD 6.0

Hi Sandy,
is the given error messages part of an OD log or is it an error message written by a target side deploy'n'run script?
OD itself don't need an open telnet port to transfer files from an OD sender to an OD receiver.
Only the OD port must be opened.
Perhaps you check:
1. the OD receiver port configured an receivers side, and if OD receiver is running (configured in receiver's odrcvr.xml)
2. the OD receivers port which the sender tries to connect (configured in sender's odnodes.xml)
3. and the connection between the two machines (firewall etc?)
