I want to get current date in datacapture templating form and want to populate this date value in creation date field of my form. Please let me know if anybody has information abt this.

On formApi u can call this function....
function setDateInit()
{
var dCurrent = new Date();
var iMonth = parseInt(dCurrent.getMonth())+1 ;
var iDay = parseInt(dCurrent.getDate());
var iYear = parseInt(dCurrent.getYear());

Jigs,

The first and the foremost solution come to my mind is as follows:

1. Use a javascript to populate the date value on init. Drawback of using javascript would be is it extracts the client side datetime.

2. The other and better option is to use an small inline perl script which subxtitutes the date value in the box provided.

Still if you are searching for anything else... just confirm.

this function trims the value and then returns month and date like month is "03" so it will return 3 only. so, how can i get the date in proper MM-DD-YYYY format.

Use the function to transform month and date as two digits.
