Install DAR on multiple repositories

I’m looking into installing a DAR simultaneously on multiple docbases. We have lots of docbases and we want to make the installation process a lot faster. I read about installing a DAR with Eclipse Ant but did not get a chance to try that out yet.

Please let me know if it’s possible or not and if you can throw me some ideas / steps about how to accomplish it, then that would be great. Also, if there are any limitations like the process can be used to install the DAR only on docbases on the same host but not different host etc …

Composer User guide has details on the ant tasks for dars and composer projects.

Have scripted install to multiple repositories. Easy to do. Suggest you

use headless composer on which is part of each content server install
create a unique workspace based on target repository
no need for user name or password if run as install owner on content server

If you dont want to use ANT script, you can still run multiple instances of DAR installer and then configure each to install on different repository.

Thanks Johnny for the quick reply. I'm not against using ANT, i just have not tried that yet.

So from what you are saying, I could potentially use an ANT script and configure all my docbases in the build.xml and install the DAR simultaneously on multiple repositories ?

About configuring multiple instances of DAR installer, how do I provide username, password etc ... information other than open each instance enter them manually, select the DAR and the repository or is there a way to automate the process using a batch file etc ..

- Not sure, I havent used ANT script as well.

- Your original question was how to do this against multiple repostiory, not automate the process. My suggestion was to do this manually, but install it simultaneously.
