OpenAPI EOL status?

When will OpenAPI be removed from TeamSite? I have not seen any official EOL announcements, but this note from a support engineer concerns me a bit:

>>>Teamsite 6.5 is the last release which includes OpenAPI along with Teamsite. Future releases of Teamsite do not support OpenAPI. TS 6.5 includes OpenAPI only for backward compatibility and is therefore not totally supported.<<<

What does that mean for the next teamsite upgrade?
o OpenAPI will be removed from the product
o OpenAPI will still exist and probably work, but functionality may change or break

We have no active OpenAPI development, but we have already invested thousands of dollars in legacy apps that we prefer not to change.

TeamSite 6.7.0 will no longer ship OpenAPI because we deprecated that API when we released Content Services SDK. We have been asking all customers using OpenAPI to migrate to using the more robust and feature-rich Content Services SDK. We continued to ship OpenAPI until TeamSite 6.5, but will not ship it starting with TeamSite 6.7.0.

Even though we have not added any features to OpenAPI since we shipped TeamSite 6.0, it is still costly for us to support and maintain two different sets of APIs.
