OR container events / FormAPI

Hi all,

I face an issue while trying to capture the "+" event for a "OR" container (TS6.5, Windows 2003).
No problem to capture "+" event for "AND" replicants at all thanks to the following code :

IWEventRegistry.addItemHandler("/Type/Front Page Features","OnReplicantAdded", init);

But "/Type" is a "OR" container, and I want to trigger some events when the user changes it. I made some research on the forums and did not find anything relevant.
Of course I tried :

IWEventRegistry.addItemHandler("/Type","OnReplicantAdded", init);

and it doesn't work Smiley Sad

Did anybody achieve that ?
Any info very appreciated !

Well - if that doesn't work then I may also be in trouble for my approach to limit total replicant counts.

Are you trying to trigger an event when the user adds a new item, or just when they change an existing item? If it is just when they change a container, I could see where it wouldn't trigger an event - since you are not actually adding an element. However, I would expect to have a new or element work properly.

Hi, I've done what you were trying to do and it wasn't any problem. I have an OR replicant that allows a user to create either a text or a graphic link as part of a navigation element.

What I needed to do was show/hide some extra options depending on the user selection of another field. The event which does the showing or hiding is easily captured, albeit using two lines (one for each type in the combination OR):

// Event handler code to allow Is_Link options to be shown/hidden by clicking on
// appropriate radio buttons within the replicants
//
IWEventRegistry.addItemHandler("/root/Text_Or_Image/Text/Is_Link","onItemChange",HandleText_Or_Image);
IWEventRegistry.addItemHandler("/root/Text_Or_Image/Image/Is_Link","onItemChange",HandleText_Or_Image);

In addition, I've got this code in to handle a new replicant being added, so that the extra options are visible or not when a new item is added (in this case, hidden. because the default selected radio button is 'No').

// Event handler code to hide link options when a new replicant is added to the
// 'Text_Or_Image' container
//
IWEventRegistry.addItemHandler("/root/Text_Or_Image","onReplicantAdded",LoopText_Or_Image);

To me this second part looks exactly the same as you are attempting, so I can't see easily what's wrong with yours. Feel free to try any of my techniques though, just in case.
